4 intelligent ways to minimise banking risks

Of late, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) imposed a one-month moratorium on Yes Bank after it failed to recover from deteriorating financial health. As a result, the accountholders of the troubled bank are restrained from withdrawing more than Rs 50,000 for now. When a large financial institution gets into trouble, the common people panic about the safety of their money with banks. So, what can you do to ensure the safety of your money and minimise banking risks? Here are a few pointers which you are likely to find very helpful.

(1) Choose your bank wisely

There are so many banks in India, but are all banks the same? What differentiates one bank from another? Why you should open or not open an account in a particular bank? If you ask these questions before opening a bank account, it can help you to make a wise decision while selecting the bank. We’ll get into the finer details of how to evaluate banks below. 

(2) Have relationships with multiple banks

Diversification not only works when you invest money but it can also help you reduce banking risks. By maintaining an account with two to three banks, you can distribute your money and reduce your risks emanating from any one bank to some extent. However, don't open accounts in too many banks because it would require you to maintain a minimum balance in each account, and you’ll also need to pay account charges such as annual debit card charges. If you fail to operate them regularly, your account may become dormant. Also, having too many accounts makes it difficult to keep track of the statements, charges, transactions, passwords, etc.

(3) When in doubt about a bank, limit your deposits to Rs 5 lakh

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced in her Budget 2020 speech that the Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (DICGC), an RBI subsidiary, will increase its insurance cover of bank deposits to Rs 5 lakh per bank per customer in case the bank fails. This insurance cover includes deposit amount and interest thereof. Meaning, suppose you have an FD of Rs. 5 lakh and the interest on it is Rs 25,000, the maximum insurance cover would be Rs 5 lakh on the bank's default and you may lose Rs 25,000 in interest earnings. So, if you are not sure about your bank’s financial health, you’ll be well-advised not to deposit more than Rs 5 lakh with it. If you want to deposit more than Rs 5 lakh, you can distribute your fund in two to three banks. 

(4) Regularly check the financial health of your bank

Now, this could be a slightly difficult task for the common people, but evaluating one’s bank on a few critical parameters has become necessary, and could help avoid troubles later.

Agencies like Moody’s, ICRA, etc. regularly update the credit rating of different banks and financial institutions. If you monitor the credit ratings of your banks and spot a consistent fall, you might not want to increase your fund exposure in them or, if required, change the bank.

Similarly, you can check the balance-sheets of your banks which are in the public domain and see their NPA ratios. A high NPA ratio is another red flag. The share price of banks is another parameter to check their health. A bank’s share price will fall when its business doesn’t perform as per expectations of profitability, NPAs, corporate governance, and other parameters.  Therefore, a falling share price should give you cause for concern.

Final thoughts

The RBI governs all commercial banks in the country. Whenever there has been a crisis, the central bank has always played a proactive role in protecting the accountholders and ensuring they do not lose their hard-earned money. So, the RBI is a crucial layer of protection, whereas the steps mentioned above can provide you with an extra cushion against banking risks.

एक आदमी ईमानदारी की मशाल जलाकर निकला, राजनीति की गटर साफ करने को निकला, अब इसमें में वो खुद भी थोड़ा बहुत जल गया.. थोड़ा गंदा भी हो गया तो कौनसा गुनाह हो गया.. लेकिन बंदा हर काम ईमानदारी से करता है... लोगों ने चोरी छिपे हत्याएँ करवाई उसने सरे आम आदमी को लटका दिया.. उसके बावजूद भाषण देता रहा.. उसके आदमी ने फर्जी डिग्री बनाई तो इसमें उसका क्या दोष उसने तो जाँच में सही डिग्री देखी थी.. उसके आदमी ने राशनकार्ड बनाया तो उसकी क्या ग़लती.. ग़लती उस महिला की जिसने खुशी खुशी राशनकार्ड बनवाया था..

उसने आधी रात को करोड़ों रुपये बैंकों के जरिये ट्रासंफर कर लिए कौनसा गुनाह किया.. बाक़ी नेता चोरी छिपे करते हैं.. बंदा है ही कमाल का.. सिर्फ 500/- लेकर वाराणसी चुनाव लड़ने गया था.. लड़ा और हवाई जहाज़ में बैठकर वापस आया.. बंदे ने खाँसी के इलाज के लिए कई बार छुट्टी ली.. आखिरकार खाँसना बंद करके ही माना.. भारत में चुनाव लड़कर अमेरिका का राष्ट्रपति बन सकता है... भले ही मुख्यमंत्री बन गया लेकिन आज भी अपने कैरेक्टर के जैसे ढीले ढाले कपड़े ही पहनता है.. सैंडिल पहनता है मफलर लपेटता है.. बंदे ने कभी किसी को धमकाया नहीं.. खुद ने थप्पड़ खाये.. स्याही फिंकवाई.. जूते फिंकवाए.. उसके बदले में चंदा माँगता है..

बंदे ने अपने लोगों को फायदा पहुँचाया तो क्या ग़लत किया.. हर कोई यही करता है.. नेता अपने बेटे को नेता.. अभिनेता अपने बच्चों को अभिनेता, बिज़नेस मैन अपने लोगों को बिज़नेस मैन बनाता है.. अपने लोगों को फायदा पहुँचाते हैं.. उसने भी यही किया.. आये दिन देश के प्रधानमंत्री से पंगा लिया.. अब राष्ट्रपति, चुनाव आयोग और सुप्रीम कोर्ट से भी लेगा.. सबको बर्ख़ास्त करेगा.. EVM में गड़बड़ी कर करके उसको पंजाब, गोवा और MCD का चुनाव हरवा दिया वरना जो आदमी अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति तक को हराने की काबिलियत रखता है वो चुनाव कैसे हार सकता था.. देश और दिल्लीवासियों के हित में निर्णय लेता है.. काम होने के पहले ही देशभर के अखबारों में विज्ञापन छापता है.. दिल्ली का मुख्यमंत्री होकर भी पूरे देश में भाजपा को हराने के लिए पूरी ताक़त लगाता है..

नोटबंदी का फैसला वापस लेने के लिए कितना समझाया लेकिन किसी ने एक नहीं सुनी.. बेचारे के नए नए पैसे बर्बाद हो गए.. लोग बेईमानी का धंधा ईमानदारी के साथ करते हैं उसने व्यवस्था परिवर्तन करते हुए ईमानदारी का धंधा बेईमानी के साथ करके दिखाया.. पंजाब और गोवा जीत जाता तो एकसाथ तीन तीन प्रदेशों का मुख्यमंत्री भी बनकर दिखा देता.. उससे बिना पूछे सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक कर दी तो उसने सबूत माँग लिए क्या ग़लत किया..

उसके एकसाथ 20 विधायकों को निपटा दिया.. वो भी ठीक था.. लेकिन इनके बीच में एक ही तो रज़िया थी उसको भी बाहर कर दिया.. अब रौनक ही नहीं होगी तो बाकी बचे हुए भी नहीं आयेंगे..

एक ईमानदार आदमी पर इतने जुलम किये गए फिर भी बेचारा सब सहन कर रहा है.. अपनी ईमानदारी की यूनिवर्सिटी से परमाण पत्तर भी जारी कर रिया है.. अब उसका कोई भी आदमी टीवी डिबेट में नहीं आता है.. जो आता था सब लोग मिलकर उसकी पतलून उतार देते थे...

फिरी में बिजली पानी दे रिया है और करोड़ों के वोट माँग रिया है.. फिर भी लोगों की आँखों में खटक रिया है.. उसने कहा था 5 साल में दिल्ली को लंदन बना देगा लेकिन वो 5 साल शुरू कब होंगे ये थोड़े न बताया था उसने.. उसकी जब मर्ज़ी होगी तब वो 5 साल चल्लू होंगे उसके बाद ही दिल्ली लंदन बनेगी..

वो इत्ता ईमानदार है कि कपड़े भी अपने कैरेक्टर के जैसे ढीले ही पहनता है.. इशारे वो देता है लेकिन ग़लती लोगों की है कि वो समझ ही नहीं पाते हैं.. अडानी अंबानी ने भी इस अदने आदमी की क़दर नहीं कि वरना वो दिल्ली मेट्रो पूरी दिल्ली के लिए फिरी कर देता..

वो 20 कॉलेज और 500 स्कूल का भी मत पूछना और फ्री वाई फाई, 10 लाख सीसीटीवी कैमरों के भी मत पूछना क्योंकि उसकी भी तारीख नहीं बताई थी..

भोत जुलम हो रिया है भिया.. अब देखना वो कोई टापू खरीदेगा और दिल्ली को भी वहीं ले जाएगा... वहीं से बैठकर सारी दुनिया पर हुकूमत करेगा...

धार्मिक, सहिष्णु, न्यायप्रिय

राम रावण का युद्ध अपने चरम पर था, रामजी की सेना रावण की सेना पर भारी पड़ रही थी लेकिन जब भी रावण का सिर धड़ से अलग करते, अट्टहास लगाता रावण फिर जीवित हो जाता। इससे रामजी विचलित होने लगे थे।

विभीषण रावण का भाई था लेकिन स्वभाव में रावण से एकदम विपरीत था। धार्मिक, सहिष्णु, न्यायप्रिय था। रावण का अंत नहीं कर पाने से चिंतित रामजी जब युद्धविराम के बाद अपने तंबू में इसी में विचारमग्न थे तब विभीषण ने बताया कि - हे प्रभु रावण की नाभि में अमृत है और जब तक आप उसकी नाभि पर वार नहीं करेंगे रावण कभी नहीं मरेगा।

अगले दिन रामजी ने रावण की नाभि पर वार किया और रावण का अंत हो गया। रामजी ने विभीषण का राजतिलक कर उसे लंका का राजा बना दिया।

विभीषण ने रामजी का साथ देकर धर्म और न्याय के साथ दिया लेकिन रावण का भेद बताकर अपने माथे पर सदा के लिए एक कलंक भी लगवा लिया - "घर का भेदी लंका ढाए"

समय बीतता गया और विभीषण अब नए स्वरूप में सामने आने लगा। धर्म और न्याय का साथ छोड़कर विभीषण सिर्फ अधर्मियों और आतताइयों का साथ देने लगा।

इसे नियति कहें या देश का दुर्भाग्य कि केवल एक परिवार ने इस देश पर रावण की तरह राज भी किया और विभीषण की ही तरह शत्रुओं को अपने भेद बताए, शत्रुओं के हाथों देश की निरीह जनता को मरवाया, रावण की तरह अपनी ही प्रजा पर अत्याचार किये और अपने ही जैसे असंख्य भेदियों की एक बड़ी सेना तैयार कर डाली।

आज ये भेदिये देश के सिस्टम में ऐसे समा गए हैं जैसे पानी में कोई रंग मिल जाता है। हाथ में हथियार लिए, खतरनाक इरादे लिए आतंकियों की पहचान तो आसानी से की जा सकती है लेकिन सिस्टम में रहकर, देश को खोखला करने वाले, देश की अर्थव्यवस्था, सैन्य शक्ति, शिक्षा, चिकित्सा, पुलिस, राजनीति, साहित्य, कला, पत्रकारिता जैसे तमाम क्षेत्रों में गुप्त रूप से बैठे इन विभीषणों ने देश और हिंदुत्व को भारी नुकसान पहुँचाया है।

गांधी नेहरू के सामने देश के हर क्रांतिकारी को बौना साबित करने का प्रयास किया गया। केवल इनको महान बताया गया। मुगलों को आक्रमणकारी, अत्याचारी बताने की बजाय उन्हें महान बताया गया। मुगलों द्वारा आक्रमण करके जिन शहरों के नाम बदले गए उनको वापस मूल नाम देना तो दूर उल्टे उन्हीं आक्रान्ताओं के नामों पर सड़कों, मोहल्लों का नामकरण कर दिया गया।

हमें पढ़ाया गया कि आज़ादी तो चरखे से आई थी, अहिंसा से आई थी, एक थप्पड़ खाने के बाद दूसरा गाल आगे करने से आई थी, ब्रिटिशों की पत्नियों से 'मधुर संबंध' बनाने से आई थी। एक मुस्लिम परिवार अपने नाम, सरनेम को बदलता रहा, कभी नाम के आगे पंडित, कभी नाम के पीछे नेहरू, गाँधी, वाड्रा फिर गाँधी लगाता रहा। देश और हिंदुत्व को खोखला करता रहा। कश्मीर को विवादित बनाकर वर्षों तक मौज काटता रहा। सरकारी मशीनरी का निजी तौर पर इस्तेमाल करता रहा। सिर्फ एक ही धर्म की तरफदारी करता रहा। हज़ारों धमाकों के बावजूद उसे "इस्लामिक आतंकवाद" बताने की बजाय "भगवा आतंकवाद" बताने लगा।

इस देश की हर समस्या की जड़ में केवल यही एक परिवार है और हज़ारों वर्ष पुराने राष्ट्र पर एक ज़बरदस्ती थोपा गया तथाकथित "राष्ट्रपिता" है।

कोई व्यक्ति किसी राष्ट्र में जन्म लेकर उस राष्ट्र का पिता कैसे हो सकता है? राष्ट्र, जन्मभूमि, जननी का कोई पिता कैसे हो सकता है? भगतसिंह, चंद्रशेखर आज़ाद को आज भी आधिकारिक तौर पर क्रांतिकारी नहीं कहा जाता है लेकिन एक विशाल देश पर एक फर्जी राष्ट्रपिता थोप दिया जाता है। देश की मुद्रा पर उसकी फोटो, देश के हर सरकारी दफ्तर, शहर में उसकी तस्वीरें, मूर्तियाँ, सड़कें थोप दी जाती हैं।

गाँधी जिस रस्सी से अपनी बकरी को बाँधते थे वो तो संग्रहालय में सुरक्षित है लेकिन जिन रस्सियों पर देश के असंख्य क्रांतिकारियों को फाँसी दी गई वो सारी रस्सियाँ उनकी चिताओं के साथ ही जला दी गई।

अगर किसी ने अपने बच्चे का नाम रावण नहीं रखा तो विभीषण भी नहीं रखा।

धर्म, न्याय का साथ देकर भी विभीषण आज भी बदनाम है और आज अधर्म, अन्याय का साथ देनेवाले देश के तमाम विभीषण खुद को देशभक्त और महान बताते फिर रहे हैं।

लेकिन जिस तरह रावण का अंत हुआ उसी तरह इन विभीषणों का अंत भी निश्चित है।

नियति सबका हिसाब करती है।

चोर की दाढ़ी में तिनका

दो दिन पहले एनसीपी नेता जितेंद्र आव्हाड ने भाषण देते हुए कहा कि - मुसलमान तो अपने बाप दादा की क़ब्र दिखाकर सबूत दे देगा, हिन्दू कहाँ से सबूत लाएगा?

हे मूर्ख शिरोमणि, आपको अपने बाप दादाओं का पता नहीं होगा या पता है तो आपको विश्वास नहीं है कि वही आपके बाप दादा हैं तो ये समस्या आपकी हो सकती है? वैसे भी इस तरह का बयान देकर आपने ये तो बता ही दिया है कि आपको अभी तक पता नहीं है कि आप किस खानदान से हैं क्योंकि खानदानी होते तो ऐसी बात नहीं बोलते?

एक काम करो क़ब्रिस्तान जाकर गड़े मुर्दे उखाड़ना शुरू करो, हो सकता है 8-10 मुर्दों से आपका डीएनए मैच हो जाए।

हिन्दू धर्म की मान्यता है कि शरीर पंचतत्वों से मिलकर बना है इसलिए उसे उन्हीं में विलीन कर दिया जाता है। बहुत साल पहले एक मुस्लिम मित्र की नानी का देहावसान होने पर मैं कब्रिस्तान गया था। वहाँ एक और मित्र कब्रिस्तान की शान में क़सीदे गढ़ रहा था। बोला ये बड़ी पाक जगह है। मैं काफी देर तक उसकी बातें सुनता रहा, फिर मैंने कहा - ज़्यादातर हॉरर फिल्मों में कब्रिस्तान ही दिखाए जाते हैं, शमशान नहीं क्योंकि वहाँ कुछ होता ही नहीं है, शरीर भस्म हो जाता है और बची हुई राख और अस्थियों को भी नदी में विसर्जित कर दिया जाता है। दूसरी बात एक ही स्थान पर हजारों, लाखों शवों का दाह संस्कार हो सकता है, वहीं कब्रिस्तान में जगह कम पड़ जाती है या फिर पुरानी कब्र पर ही नई कब्र खोदनी पड़ती है। कब्रिस्तान के सामने से अगर देर रात को गुज़रना पड़े तो मन में डर सा लगता है वहीं शमशान घाट के सामने से आप कभी भी बिंदास गुज़र जाओ कोई डर नहीं लगता है।

इसके बाद उसने चुप्पी साध ली और धीरे से खिसक लिया।

हर धर्म की अपनी मान्यताएँ हैं, वो उसको मानें लेकिन केवल स्वयं को श्रेष्ठ बताओगे तो सनातन धर्म के सामने कहीं ठहर नहीं पाओगे।

अगर इतने पुख़्ता सबूत दे सकता है तो काहे को पूरे देश में बवाल काट रहा है वैसे भी नागरिकता कानून में न तो किसी से कागज़ात माँगे जा रहे न किसी की नागरिकता छीनी जा रही है। तभी तो विरोध प्रदर्शनों में मंच से घोषणाएं की जा रही हैं - कोई आपसे पूछे कि क्या आप CAA के बारे में जानते हैं तो आपको उनसे कोई बहस नहीं करनी है, बस इतना कहना है कि हमको ये कानून नहीं चाहिए।

चोर की दाढ़ी में तिनका दिख ही रहा है, साथ में जितेंद्र आव्हाड जैसे लावारिसों की पहचान भी हो रही है।

सहिष्णु

कुत्तों का एक गुण सबसे उत्तम है कि वो वफादार होता है, लेकिन कुछ अवगुण भी कुत्तों में होते हैं.. जैसे कुत्ते झुंड में हों तो ज़्यादा भौंकते हैं, उनके इलाके से गुज़र रहे लोगों को अपनी ताक़त दिखाने के लिए शक्ति प्रदर्शन करते हैं.. कुत्तों की अपनी सीमाएँ भी होती हैं.. ये अपना इलाके में शेर पर भी गुर्राते हैं लेकिन दूसरे कुत्तों के इलाके में पहुँच जाएँ तो भीगी बिल्ली बनकर घूमते हैं.. उस इलाके के कुत्ते अगर घेर लें तो अपने इलाके का शेर दुम दबाकर कोने में घुस जाता है और खिसियाकर भौंकता रहता है.. कभी कोई ताकतवर कुत्ता इलाके में आकर कुतिया का राशनकार्ड भी बनाकर चला जाता है.. लेकिन कुत्ता फिर भी खुद को शेर समझता है..

कुत्तों की इसी तरह की खासियत वाले दो कुत्ते भाई हैदराबाद में रहते हैं.. ये अपने जैसे कुत्तों की भीड़ इकठ्ठी करते हैं.. 8-10 कुत्ते इनके पीछे खड़े होते हैं और 400-500 सामने बैठे होते हैं.. अक्सर छोटा कुत्ता अकबरुद्दीन ओवैसी ऐसे ही मजमा लगाकर भौंकता है.. फिर उसके साथ बाक़ी कुत्ते भी भौंकने लगते हैं...

ये बड़ी स्टाइल में माइक इधर उधर मटकते हुए भौंकता है.. इसने बताया कि इसके अब्बाओं ने 800 साल तक इस देश पर राज किया है.. इसके पुरखों का राशनकार्ड भी इन्हीं अब्बाओं ने बनाया है.. ये देश तो 5000 वर्ष पुराना है.. उसमें से 800 साल राज किया को ऐसे बताता है जैसे ये देश 800 साल पहले ही बना था... बड़ा खुश होता है क्योंकि इसके खून में है कि पड़ोसी को अपना बाप बताना और उसके आगे सजदा करना..

ये जो आज बैठा है न सफेद दाढ़ी वाला इसने 2002 में तुम्हारे पिछवाड़े में जो बम्बू डाला था उसी कारण तुम आजतक कराह रहे हो.. तुमने बहुत कोशिशें की उसे रोकने, मिटाने की.. मगर वो नहीं रुका और तुम्हारी छाती पर आज मूँग दल रहा है.. ज़रा अपने पड़ोसी बाप पाकिस्तान से पूछ लो.. बहुत बकर बकर करता था.. 2 बार घर में घुसकर मारकर आया है.. आज तुम्हारा पड़ोसी अब्बा भिखारी बना पूरी दुनिया में कटोरा लिए घूम रहा है... आटे दाल के भाव पता चल रहे हैं..

हमारे सहिष्णु और एकजुट न होने का फायदा ही मुगलों ने उठाया था.. हमारे मंदिरों, वास्तुकला की श्रेष्ठतम इमारतों को नष्ट करके ही तुमने अपनी घटिया इमारतें खड़ी की हैं.. हमारे शास्त्रों को जलाया है.. हिंदुओं का नरसंहार किया है.. वरना इतिहास साक्षी है मुठ्ठीभर राजपूतों और मराठाओं ने ही मुगलों के दाँत खट्टे कर दिए थे.. हमारे सिर्फ 120 सैनिक ही तुम्हारे पड़ोसी 2000 अब्बाओं की फौज पर भारी पड़ गए थे..

तो पड़ोसी को अब्बा मानने वाले कुत्ते ज़्यादा मत भौंके वरना किसी दिन दुम दबाकर भागने का भी मौक़ा नहीं मिलेगा.. समझ गया..

The documentation process that we follow in our lifecycle:

Birth Certificate: The very first document to authenticate our identity and nationality, universally accepted, not questioned by anyone yet?

School Leaving Certificate: A must required document to further pursue your high school and college education, universally accepted, not questioned by anyone yet?

Graduation Degree: The document that defines your educational achievements and defines your career path, universally accepted, not questioned by anyone yet?

Placements: All of the above documents with an additional document stating the above is true to your best knowledge and further attested, universally accepted, not questioned by anyone yet?

Bank Account, Loans & Financial: All of the above documents with your income proof and so many other documents to get the loan sanctioned, basically loan against all the possible securities, universally accepted, not questioned by anyone yet?

Travel: Bus, train & flight tickets to authenticate your travel, would you encourage or accept people traveling without ticket or people sitting on your designated seats? Passport and visa documents to authenticate your identity for traveling abroad, universally accepted, not questioned by anyone yet?

Migration Laws: Anyone and everyone who desires to migrate, needs all of the above documents for their cases to be considered, still it is purely at the discretion of the authorities & their respective country laws. Ask yourself if you can easily migrate to UK, Europe, UAE or USA without any documentation? Again the process is universally accepted but not questioned by anyone yet?

Death Certificate: The last document used to authenticate that you r no more existing in this world, all of the above documents become null and void the moment this document is issued!

From our birth to our death, we are an entity and an identity defined by our documentation and there is no escape to it.

When we blindly follow these norms to progress in the society we live in so why so much of Hue and Cry if the government wants to implement #NRC #CAA #CAB? If you are a legal and law abiding citizen then you have nothing to fear and for the rest please get your act right and live gracefully and not illegally!

For those who think the current government is playing divide and rule politics basis our religion then please let me know who created India and Pakistan at first place?

For those who think India is intolerant then pls visit Islamic and Catholic states to get the real picture. Please try to show your secularism there and see how many come forward to stand next to you or even acknowledge your thoughts socially.

I am a proud Indian and if the government wants to conduct such an exercise then I am more then willing to co-operate like I have been co-operating all these years to have my documents in place.

It doesn't matter whether it is BJP, CONGRESS or any legitimate elected party. There is no harm in figuring out your legitimate citizens and immigrants (legal or illegal) and I am pretty sure that the government would have their own reasons, be it security, grants, consessions, etc...

I strongly believe in the concept of " Atithi Devo Bhava" provided the Atithi is arriving through my front door and not sneaking in my house unnoticed and uncalled!
